BEYOND RETRO, the renowned vintage clothing chain, has launched a new Take Back Initiative as part of their continued efforts to close the loop on fashion waste. This initiative, aimed at promoting sustainability and circular fashion, allows customers to trade in pre-loved clothing for store credit across all full-price stores in the UK and Sweden.
The Beyond Retro Exchange program encourages customers to clear out their closets by bringing in quality designer, sportswear, workwear, and vintage pieces from the 1970s to the 2000s. Customers can receive up to 40% of the selling price as a Beyond Retro gift card to spend on their next vintage purchase. Items must be laundered and in excellent condition, with no damage or stains, to be accepted.
Beyond Retro has partnered with Love Not Landfill in the UK and Human Bridge in Sweden to recycle any items they cannot accept, ensuring nothing goes to waste. The brand’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and reducing fashion waste has made it a pioneer in the vintage retail sector.
The Take Back Initiative simplifies the process for customers through four easy steps: laundering their items, bringing them to a Beyond Retro store, having the team assess the pieces, and receiving store credit for accepted items.
The company is particularly interested in items from iconic designers and brands such as Balenciaga, Burberry, Chanel, Levi’s, Nike, Ralph Lauren, and Versace. Current sought-after items include denim jackets, puffer coats, vintage dresses, sportswear, and 90s shirts.
BEYOND RETRO is widely celebrated for its dedication to sustainable fashion, offering a vast collection of handpicked vintage clothing for style-conscious shoppers. The Take Back Initiative is another step in their mission to reduce fashion’s carbon footprint by keeping quality clothing in circulation and promoting mindful consumption.
